For more than one kind of reader

The inquiry is intended for believers, sceptics, undecided readers, students, study groups and people from other faiths. Its approach makes room for substantial competing views without treating every claim as equally well supported.

Sources and expertise

The project pays close attention to sources, competing explanations and the difference between an assertion and its support. Ancient history and religious studies require their own methods and expertise. This project does not claim independent specialist review.

An identity of its own

The Jesus Inquiry has its own subject, purpose and editorial approach. The proposed companion book is connected with Considered Press.

Where the project stands

The published site includes six introductory answers, the 17-question Christian-understanding collection, three researched essays, a complete Gospel reader and study tools. Wider subjects are grouped on the development-plan page until they are ready. The companion book remains in development.
